Mini Love

The first time I laid my eyes on a mini laptop, I drooled. (Technically it’s called a “Netbook,” although I’ve no idea why.) The things are just so darn pretty! And teeny! And completely portable in a can-take-them-anywhere kind of way. Every time I see one, I sigh, wipe my mouth with the back of my hand, and be grateful for the laptop we do have.

Because I have been grateful for it! I don’t have much time to write, and I find that the time I do have is usually when I’m away from home, waiting somewhere. HAL (Huge Adequate Laptop) has been around for a whole lot of years, and I have spent a lot of quality time with him. He's done me good. He's reliable, he’s got decent hardware...

And he’s big.
Like perfect-for-a-desktop big. But like I said, grateful!

Recently, the planets all aligned, and it looks as if my drooling days have come to an end! I’d like to introduce you to PAM. (That stands for Peg’s Awesome Mini.) And boy, is it awesome! Have you ever seen anything more beautiful?

Here is PAM, showing off her size on top of HAL (aka grateful laptop).

Here’s PAM next to a typical hardback book.

Here's me typing an unforgettable story on PAM's keyboard, whose size just happens to be 92% of a normal sized keyboard. Sa-weet! And, she only takes 30 seconds to boot up. :)

Some laptop love...

And here's me, frolicking through the fields while holding PAM. She's so tiny, you can hardly see her!

And here's me making dinner with PAM sitting faithfully by my side, like a little puppy. Except I don't have to clean up its messes or feed it.

Okay, so I totally faked the making dinner picture. Like I'm going to expose PAM to heat and possible splashing! But the fact remains, she's small enough and portable enough that she could hang out with me anywhere.

And here’s PAM, just sitting looking pretty. Huh. Maybe my drooling days have only come to a middle.

I love Pam. Now I want one too.

Wow, Peggy. PAM is awesome! And so are those pictures of you. You are both little cuties.

PS I think netbook is a take off of notebook. hmm.

PAM is pretty much like HAL, except that she doesn't have a cd drive. So, when I need to install something, I just plug her into the network, and access the cd drive that's on my desktop. Other than that, she's a pretty darn capable computer. And yes, when I saw that she came in PINK, I totally thought of you. :)
